Complementing this training, Dennis enjoyed more than 22 years in the natural foods
industry, 6+ years in "integrative" pharmacies (Adobe Drug & Wellness, Pharmaca
Integrative), and 17+ years at Parkpoint Health Club (Santa Rosa), where he was
resident nutritionist his last 11 years there. At the pharmacies, his practitioner role in-
cluded: nutrition, supplement specialist, herbalist, and herb/drug interactions.
All these venues, including private practice, afforded Dennis opportunities in consulta-
tions, teaching monthly classes (Parkpoint Club, e.g.), and public speaking engagements
in adult education, schools, senior centers, specific chronic illness groups, & various
community-based organizations.
He was a frequent guest speaker at Sonoma Valley Hospital Integrative Care. After his work at
the pharmacies, he joined the Integrative Health Network, affiliated with that hospital, as an active member/practitioner, facilitating more community outreach.
He was also affiliated with Bone & Joint Health Network at St. Joseph Health/Santa Rosa
Memorial (Hosp.) as a referral source for Nutrition counseling.
Dennis has also written a variety of papers & articles on diet(s), vitamins & minerals, essential fats, best sources of nutrients, and medicinal herbs. (can send by request)
In 2014-15 he participated in conferences, based on Dr. Dale Bredesen's lifestyle changes protocol, "Enhancing Memory through Science & Lifestyle" - in Sonoma at The Lodge: best nutritional & herbal supplements for cognitive function, or reversing the effects of early onset dementia. This conference, (RE:Mind), was in partnership with Sonoma Valley Hospital Integrative Health Network, and Dennis spoke & consulted at those conferences, along with colleagues.
Social Sciences Background
Dennis taught Sociology courses at Northern Virginia Community College & Sonoma State University,
and was a youth social worker in Washington, D.C., where he also was an "inner city" tennis coach
& instructor, with children. In the past 5 years he's tutored elementary school students, most in English language, reading comprehension, composition, and societal themes.
